SAKURA SUNDAY - SUBARU CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL
When:  A Sunday in Mid-April; in 2011, it is April 10.
Where: Cherry tree grove in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.
What:  A Japanese celebration of spring and the cherry blossoms' arrival.  Dancers, drummers, martial arts, and the ritual "watering" of the cherry trees with champagne.

      LINVILLA ORCHARDS HISTORIC CAR SHOW
When: May 15, 2011.
Where: Linvilla Orchards, Media, PA (in Delaware County).
What: Run by the Historical Car Club of PA, this daylong show features over 250 antique, classic, and sports cars ranging from Stanley Steamers and Model T's to Corvettes, Mustangs and "funny cars".

                      WORLD WAR II WEEKEND
When: First full weekend in June: June 3-4-5, 2011.
Where: Mid-Atlantic Air Museum and surrounding tarmac, Reading Regional Airport, Reading, PA.
What: A thorough recreation of the World War II experience - re-enactments from all theaters of war plus the Home Front.  AND - an air show of flying vintage aircraft - from trainers to bombers - including aerobatics.

                          DURYEA HILLCLIMB
When: Late August - August 20-21, 2011.
Where: City Park, Reading, PA.
What: Sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America and the PA Hillclimb Assoc. Cars race against the clock from City Park up a 2.3 mile 13-turn course on Duryea Dr. past the famous Pagoda to the William Penn Fire Tower at the summit.  Walk amongst the cars (and even talk to the drivers) in the pit area, then view the races from the starting line, or from spectator points along the course.

               HENRY DAVID HALLOWEEN BALL
When: Halloween Night - October 31.
Where: Usually Sheraton Hotel, downtown Philadelphia.
What: The daring and creative appear in their latest Halloween fashions for one of the largest, most colorful parties in Philly.  The public is invited - currently $25 if you have a costume - 3 times more if you don't.
